Shari (a West Coast girl) and Jason (an East Coast guy) began their photography careers in 2000 after meeting at a small art school in Western Massachusetts. After graduating, they went on to assist a range of commercial photographers in New York City, when they were first introduced to the world of wedding and portrait photography.

 

At the time, wedding photography was still highly traditional... many days were built around staged moments and reenactments. But a handful of studios in Manhattan were beginning to experiment with a more editorial & photojournalistic approach. That shift immediately resonated with Shari and Jason, influencing a more thoughtful, story-driven approach centered around genuine moments rather than staged ones.

 

Before long, they were apprenticing with one of the largest wedding and portrait studios in the region and within six months became the principal photographers for all three of the company’s locations. After photographing nearly 200 events for the New York–based studio, they set out on their own and founded Dreamscape Studio Photography.

 

For more than 20 years, Shari and Jason have photographed weddings, family portraits, corporate events and commercial projects throughout the Northeast. They value the trust their clients place in them and take pride in creating honest, thoughtful imagery that preserves life’s most meaningful moments. With each passing year, they continue to refine their craft, always focused on becoming stronger visual storytellers.
