Shari (a West Coast girl) and Jason (an East Coast guy) began their photography careers after meeting at a small art school in Western Massachusetts. Upon graduating, they went on to assist a wide range of commercial photographers in New York City, where they were first introduced to a wedding and portrait photography industry that was heading in a new direction.

 

At the time, event photography was mostly traditional. Wedding days were generally built around staged moments and reenactments. But a handful of studios in Manhattan were beginning to experiment with a more editorial & photojournalistic approach. That shift immediately resonated with Shari and Jason, influencing a more thoughtful, story-driven approach centered around genuine moments and gentle guidance... an overall better experience for their couples.

 

Before long, they were apprenticing for one of the largest wedding and portrait studios in the region and within six months became the principal photographers for all three of the company’s locations. After photographing nearly 200 events for the New York–based studio, they set out on their own and founded Dreamscape Studio Photography.

​For more than 20 years, Shari and Jason have photographed weddings, portraits, and commercial projects throughout Connecticut, New York, and the greater Northeast. The trust their clients place in them on some of the most meaningful days of their lives is something they never take for granted. And while they're proud of the work they've produced over the last two and a half decades, they remain genuinely committed to growing as visual storytellers, always looking for new ways to bring greater depth and intention to each and every image they create.
